Information about Texas state efforts on accessibility is available from the Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (the "University") strives to provide websites that are accessible to all users. The Health Science Center acknowledges its obligation to assure that its websites satisfy all applicable legal and regulatory requirements for accessibility by persons with disabilities.
The University adheres to University of Texas System ("UT System") Policy UTS 150 addressing the access by persons with disabilities to electronic and information resources that are procured and developed by UT System and the UT System institutions.
Technical standards that guide compliance are provided by Title 1, Rules 206.70, 213.30, and 213.35 of the Texas Administrative Code.
The University's websites are decentralized, and originate from separate segments within the University. Regardless of origin, all official University websites are held to the applicable accessibility standards set by state and federal laws.
Each University website is created and maintained by a University employee who is the "publisher" of the website. It is the responsibility of both the publisher of a University website and that publisher's Dean, Vice President, Chair and/or Director to ensure that such websites comply with all applicable accessibility laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. In the event that a disabled individual requests a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with respect to a Health Science Center website, then it is the responsibility of the ADA coordinator and the publisher of that website to comply with Policy 4.2.3 in the University's Handbook of Operating Procedures in order to address that request for reasonable accommodation.
The University promotes understanding of the laws, and the goals of web accessibility by publishing links to the full text of Title 1, Chapters 206 and 213 of the Texas Administrative Code.
The public is encouraged to direct comments, complaints or suggestions concerning any accessibility issues with the University's websites to:
