Faculty member elected to PT educators board

 

Michael A. Geelhoed, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, associate professor and director of clinical education for the Department of Physical Therapy, was elected to the National Consortium of Clinical Educators Board of Directors as Academic Director-at-Large. The position will take effect at the Education Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, on Oct. 7, 2016.

Dr. Geelhoed has presented on PT clinical education to national and regional audiences, and is an author of the Texas Consortium’s CI Certification course.


LEAP program to launch its first graduate

Eduardo Siller is fascinated by the detective element of his chosen profession.

“There are so many areas that you play a part in,” said Siller, who is completing his graduation requirements for a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) this summer. “You don’t see the patients but you get different clues what’s going on with them. Trying to figure out what’s wrong — that’s really interesting to me.”
