Respiratory Care faculty member named CHEST fellow

Assistant Professor Megan Carreon, MHA, RRT, FCCP, has been named a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST).

Carreon, who serves as interim chair of the Department of Respiratory Care, will formally be inducted in October during CHEST’s annual meeting. She is the third member of the current Department of Respiratory Care faculty to receive the honor, which recognizes leaders in pulmonary and critical care, sleep medicine and respiratory care. 

“It’s a great recognition and an honor,” she said, noting that CHEST promotes collaboration among physicians and respiratory therapists.

Carreon has received the Distinguished CHEST Educator Award multiple times and serves as the vice chair of CHEST’s Mechanical Ventilation Domain Task Force.
