School of Dentistry alumni and faculty honored by Texas Academy of General Dentistry

Each year, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) selects one dentist to honor as the Texas Dentist of the Year and one as the Texas New Dentist of the Year. Both awards are considered the highest honors a Texas dentist can receive. Nominees are chosen throughout the state from local societies and components of the Texas Dental Association and Texas AGD.


Dental Student wins ICD-WUDAA award

Gabby Ward, a fourth-year dental student at the School of Dentistry, has been named one of 18 recipients of the 2025 International College of Dentists–Washington University Dental Alumni Association (ICD-WUDAA) Scholarship. This marks the fifth consecutive year that a School of Dentistry dental student has received the prestigious award.

School of Dentistry welcomes students and faculty from Japan for annual exchange program

The University of Texas at San Antonio School of Dentistry recently welcomed dental students and faculty from Japan’s Asahi University and Meikai University for the 28th year of the annual Japanese Student Exchange Program (JSEP). The weeklong visit, which ran from August 16 to August 25, combined Texas culture with immersive academic experiences at the School of Dentistry, strengthening the bond between the institutions.
