UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry wins Academy of General Dentistry 2024 Student Chapter of the Year Award

We are proud to announce that the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) student chapter at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry has been honored with the 2024 Student Chapter of the Year Award. This recognition is a testament to our student chapter's exceptional efforts and achievements throughout the 2023-2024 academic year.

AGD is a professional association representing general dentists' needs and interests. It provides more than 40,000 members with the resources, support and inspiration they need to deliver the public the best dental care and oral health education.

The UT Health San Antonio student chapter witnessed remarkable growth, welcoming over 150 new members from all dental classes.

The student chapter organized various events throughout the year to engage and educate its members. These included multiple social events promoting networking and twelve Continuing Education (CE) sessions covering topics ranging from digital dentistry to advocacy. These sessions not only enhanced the knowledge and skills of dental students but also prepared them to be leaders in the ever-evolving field of dentistry.

In addition to their academic and social activities, our student chapter made significant contributions to the local community. Their volunteer efforts at the Ronald McDonald House, a local refugee health clinic and the American Cancer Society’s Oral Cancer Foundation Walk demonstrate their commitment to service and compassion.
